It’s a Float Date
Our yearly calendars are jam packed with a whole variety of excuses to come together and celebrate but only one holiday is laser focused on that four little word called love. Valentine’s day has become a standard hallmark holiday with the very basic (and gladly accepted) gifts like flowers, chocolates and a prix fixe dinner date for two at that fancy restaurant you’ve both been eyeing.
Why not try something different this year instead of doing the same old routine? Ditch the gifts that are “things” and instead, gift the gift of a shared experience. And what better experience than the gift of relaxation? We all could use more of it and that’s a fact! The transition from one year to the next is always a busy time for people- people are traveling, things are happening all around that it becomes tough to take even a single day to focus on getting enough rest. Here are the top three reasons why you should consider taking your sweetie to float on Valentines day instead of doing the same thing you did last year.
- Relaxation trumps all else. Relaxation is a key reason you should try a float date for Valentines day. Today, people are more stressed than ever before and even when we attempt to relax, we don’t realize that we’re still holding on to that stress- physically, mentally, and emotionally. Have you ever been mid float when you realize that you’re still holding your head up and haven’t relaxed? (I’m guilty of it) We’re so absorbed in the stimulus from our world that we’ve forgotten what it even feels like to be in the natural state of relaxation. Jog your memory and book an appointment for the two of you to relax together!
- Caring is sharing. Nothing will show that you care about someone more than offering a gift that is focused on their self care. Often we take care of so many other people our life that our own health and sanity are an afterthought. I’m sure we all know someone who could take better care of themselves and who deserves a little extra love. Show them you care about their wellbeing and spend the day dedicated to a new found love of healthy living.
- Quality over quantity, every time. Material gifts are nice to receive but what happens after that immediate rush? The gift usually finds its home on the shelf or in the closet and then your attention gets distracted to the next thing you want to obtain. Measure your love in the quality of your thoughtfulness, rather than the quantity of gifts you give. It’s always worth it.
Before you choose what to do with your sweetheart this Valentine’s day, take a moment to reflect on what would mean the most to them and how you can show your love and appreciation. A float for two may be the new date night plan for you. Enjoy!
